RUKWA, Oct. 20 -- THE Tanzanian government has allocated 424.6bn/- for the implementation of the various development projects in the Rukwa Region.
These projects include the renovation of the Sumbawanga Airport and the construction of tarmac roads, as part of ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and stimulate social and economic development in the region.
According to the Rukwa Regional Manager for the Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS), Engineer Mgeni Mwanga, the government is currently carrying out renovation and improvement works at the Sumbawanga Airport, with the project now 86 percent complete.
