MWANZA, Aug. 19 -- 18,823 residents of Mwakilyambiti ward in Kwimba district in Mwanza are expected to benefit from better health services after the Tanzanian government allocated 250m/- for the construction of the Mwakilyambiti Health Centre.

Speaking during the laying of the foundation stone today, August 18, 2026, in Mwanza, the Acting Kwimba District Director, Ms Janeth Lukumay said the centre was built after residents requested that the Mwakilyambiti dispensary be upgraded to a health centre.

She said Mwakilyambiti ward has five villages and 49 hamlets, with its residents previously relying on services from the Mwakilyambiti Dispensary and Mwamhanji Dispensary, as well as travelling to health centres in neighbouring wards of Hungum...
