SAINT PETERSBURG, Oct. 16 -- TANZANIA has emphasised the importance of strengthening cooperation with the Russian Federation in the mining sector through domestic mineral value addition, the transfer of modern technologies and the development of local expertise.

The call was made by Deputy Minister for Minerals, Dr Steven Kiruswa, during the Russia-Africa Raw Materials Dialogue held in Saint Petersburg, Russia, from October 12 to 17, 2026. The conference brings together more than 1,000 participants from over 40 countries to discuss cooperation in the development and utilisation of mineral resources.
