MUSCAT, Sept. 29 -- A new strategic and historic chapter has officially been opened in diplomatic and economic relations between the United Republic of Tanzania and the Sultanate of Oman following the first Bilateral Consultations Meeting between the two countries since the signing of the Political Consultations Agreement in 2009.

The meeting, held in Muscat, Oman, on September 28, 2026, was led by Omans Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Khalifa Al-Harthy. The two sides agreed to strengthen their longstanding fraternal and friendly relations by leveraging their geographic positions as important gateways and hubs for trade and investment between Africa and the Gulf.
