DODOMA, May 8 -- TANZANIA and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have begun talks aimed at strengthening cooperation in oil and natural gas exploration, transport and distribution projects to improve energy trade and petroleum supply in the region.

The discussions took place in Dodoma on May 7, 2026, during a meeting between the Minister for Energy, Deogratius Ndejembi, and the DRC Minister of Hydrocarbons, Acacia Bandubola Mongo.

During their discussions, the two sides explored opportunities for collaboration in the development of oil and gas resources as well as petroleum transportation and distribution infrastructure to improve access to fuel products in the DRC.
