DODOMA, March 17 -- THE Cereals and Other Produce Regulatory Authority (COPRA) has called on seed sector stakeholders to propose measures aimed at increasing the production and supply of quality seeds ahead of the 2026/2027 farming season.

Speaking over the weekend in Dodoma at the opening of a stakeholders meeting, COPRA

Director General, Irene Mlola said the authority is working to strengthen the seed production system to improve farmers access to quality planting materials.

The meeting brought together experts and stakeholders in the seed sector to develop strategies for expanding the production of seeds and seedlings for key crops, including sesame, legumes and avocado.
