DAR ES SALAAM, June 10 -- FROM handwoven cotton threads to finished garments destined for international shelves, the Msasani handmade cotton clothing production centre in Dar es Salaam offered the First Lady of Singapore, Ms Jane Ittogi Shanmugaratnam, a vivid experience of Tanzanias growing textile industry during her official visit.

According to information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, she toured the facility and was taken through the full production chain, starting from cotton processing, spinning, and design, through to the final production of quality garments that meet both local and international standards.
