DAR ES SALAAM, July 3 -- PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has directed the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) to broaden the tax base, simplify revenue systems and strengthen integrity as part of efforts to finance the countrys development agenda through domestic resources.

She said that as the country advances towards the implementation of Vision 2050 and its broader development ambitions, building a strong, efficient and sustainable domestic revenue system remains essential to achieving economic self-reliance.
