DAR ES SALAAM, May 3 -- PRESIDENT Paul Kagame of Rwanda said his government is in the process of identifying and honouring Tanzanians who provided humanitarian and heroic support during the Rwandan Genocide in 1994.
President Kagame made the remarks on May 3, 2026, while addressing a press conference at State House in Dar es Salaam, alongside his host, the President of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan.
He explained that the initiative forms part of efforts to strengthen diplomatic relations and cooperation between Rwanda and Tanzania, aimed at delivering mutual benefits to citizens of both countries.
