MWANZA, Oct. 25 -- MS Grace Masanya is among Buhongwa Ward residents in Nyamagana District, Mwanza Region, eagerly awaiting the completion of the Butimba 1B water project, which is expected to become operational in December this year.

The 46bn/- worth project is a continuation of the Butimba Water Source project (Butimba1A), which was launched by President Samia Suluhu Hassan in June 2025.

It is sponsored by the French Development Agency (Agence Française de DéveloppementAFD) in collaboration with the Tanzanian government, under the supervision of Mwanza Urban Water and Sanitation Authority (Mwauwasa).
