DAR ES SALAAM, April 1 -- PUMP prices for petroleum products have increased, with the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) announcing new indicative rates effective April 1, 2026, in line with monthly adjustments driven by global market trends.
According to a statement issued by EWURA on Wednesday, in Dar es Salaam, retail prices have gone up, with petrol now selling at 3,820/- per litre, diesel at 3,806/- and kerosene at 3,684/- per litre.
The authority attributed the rise to the ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, particularly involving the United States, Israel and Iran, which began on February 28, 2026, and have significantly disrupted global oil supply.
