DAR ES SALAAM, Oct. 16 -- PRIME Minister Mwigulu Nchemba has called on African countries to strengthen regional cooperation in transport to cut the cost and time of moving goods, expand market access and accelerate economic growth.

He made the call when opening the 10th Council of Ministers meeting of the Maritime Organisation of Eastern, Southern and Northern Africa (MOESNA) in Dar es Salaam saying closer coordination of maritime, road and railway transport systems is essential to facilitating trade across the continent.

“Integrating the different transport networks will make it easier to move goods between countries, reduce logistical costs and improve access to regional and international markets,” he said.
