US, Oct. 7 -- JOHN Clarke, Michel Devoret and John Martinis have won the 2025 physics Nobel Prize for work in quantum mechanics. It is the second Nobel prize to be awarded so far this year.
A trio of US-based scientists, John Clarke, Michel Devoret and John Martinis, has won the Nobel Prize in physics for their work in the field of quantum mechanical tunnelling, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced in Stockholm on Tuesday.
The prize was awarded for “the discovery of macroscopic quantum mechanical tunnelling and energy quantisation in an electric circuit,” according to the award-giving body.
