MOROGORO, Oct. 11 -- NATIONAL League for Democracy (NLD) presidential candidate Doyo Hassan Doyo has vowed to curb government spending, including cutting MPs allowances and channel the savings into improving salaries for public servants, if elected president.
Addressing a campaign rally at Chief Kingalu Market in Morogoro Municipality on Tuesday, Mr Doyo said an NLD government would focus on efficiency, transparency and judicious spending use of public funds to strengthen key social services, especially healthcare and education.
“If elected, our government will reduce unnecessary expenditures while strengthening essential provision of services such as healthcare,” he said.
