ZANZIABR, Sept. 23 -- Zanzibar CCM Presidential candidate Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi has pledged to implement a major water project valued at $26 million in collaboration with NEC Company from Oman, aimed at ensuring reliable water supply for residents of North Unguja.

Speaking during his re-election campaign trail, Dr Mwinyi also highlighted plans to upgrade major highways and rural roads to tarmac standards, promising better connectivity across the region.

Among his key development pledges are large-scale infrastructure projects including the Mangapwani Port and Kigunda Airport in Nungwi, which are expected to significantly boost trade and tourism in North Unguja.
