MTWARA, July 27 -- MTWARA Port has strengthened its position as a key regional trade gateway after handling four cargo vessels and offloading more than 1,500 heavy-duty trucks within a single week, reflecting growing confidence among regional and international traders.

A statement from the Tanzania Ports Authorities (TPA) noted that the trucks are serving Tanzanias domestic market while transporting goods to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Zambia and Malawi through the Mtwara Corridor, underscoring the ports expanding role in facilitating cross-border trade.

According to the statement, TPA attributed the increased traffic to ongoing investments aimed at enhancing the ports efficiency and competitiveness.
