DAR ES SALAAM, Aug. 18 -- MOROCCO secured a place in the quarterfinals of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) after a commanding 3–1 victory over the Democratic Republic of Congo in their final Group A match at Nyayo National Stadium yesterday.

The result confirmed Moroccos second-place finish in the group, setting up a quarterfinal showdown with Tanzania on Friday at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Hosts Kenya topped the group with 10 points after a narrow 1–0 win over Zambia at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani yesterday.

Kenya will now face Group B runners-up Madagascar in the other quarterfinal tie scheduled for Friday.
