MTWARA, Sept. 20 -- PRESIDENTIAL candidate of the Makini party, Mr Coaster Kibonde (pictured), has pledged to uplift the agricultural sector if elected President of Tanzania.

Addressing residents of Mikindani in Mtwara Region, he promised to raise the prices of cash crops such as cashew nuts, pigeon peas and sesame while ensuring farmers have access to reliable markets.

“We have reports that the market for pigeon peas and sesame has declined. Therefore, once the Chama cha Makini government is declared the winner, we will travel to various countries around the world to search for better and more profitable market for farmers,” said Mr Kibonde.
