DAR ES SALAAM, Sept. 24 -- THE Director General of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority (LATRA), CPA Dr Habib Suluo, has said a total of 2.13tri/- was generated from land transport ticket sales between the 2022/23 and 2025/26 financial years.

Dr Suluo made the statement on September 24, 2026, in Dar es Salaam while briefing journalists on LATRAs achievements. He said the revenue was generated from a total of 62.2 million passengers who travelled during the four-year period.

Of the total revenue, 1.99tri/-, equivalent to 95.3 percent, was generated through cash payments made by 59.3 million passengers. A further 144bn/-, equivalent to 4.7 percent, was generated through electronic payments made by 2.9 million passengers.
