DAR ES SALAAM, Sept. 22 -- THE High Court in Dar es Salaam has ordered Central Electricals International Limited, a Kenyan family-owned company, to pay more than 900m/- to the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) for unremitted employee contributions and penalties.

In a ruling delivered by Judge Anold Kirekiano, the court granted a summary judgment in favour of the Board of Trustees of the NSSF and the Attorney General, who jointly filed the suit against the company.

“The defendant, Central Electricals International Limited, is hereby ordered to pay a total of 938,375,146.21/-, being unremitted members contributions and accumulated penalties due and payable to the NSSF,” Judge Kirekiano said.
