ZANZIBAR, April 8 -- PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan and Zanzibar President Hussein Mwinyi joined hundreds of citizens and members of the Karume family in a special prayer to commemorate the late Abeid Amani Karume, 54 years after his assassination.

The solemn ceremony took place at the CCM sub-headquarters in Kisiwandui, bringing together political leaders, religious figures and ordinary citizens in a united show of respect for one of Zanzibars founding leaders.

The event highlighted Karumes enduring legacy, particularly his pivotal role in the 1964 Revolution and the socio-economic transformation of Zanzibar.
