BUKOBA, March 5 -- THE Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB) in Kagera Region has recovered more than 57.1m/- in unpaid government taxes from traders who imported goods from a neighbouring country without paying the required duties.

Kagera PCCB Regional Chief, Mr Vangsada Mkalimoto, disclosed the information yesterday while briefing journalists on the bureaus quarterly report for October to December 2025.

He explained that on December 29 last year, PCCB, in collaboration with Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) officials at the Mutukula border, intercepted five vehicles carrying large consignments of goods entering the country illegally.
