ZANZIBAR, Oct. 4 -- THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued a revised timetable for the nomination of candidates and elections for one parliamentary seat and two councillorship posts following the deaths of their candidates.

The late Abass Ali Mwinyi, the CCM candidate for the Fuoni parliamentary seat in Magharibi B District, Zanzibar, passed away on 25 September 2025.

Others are Hassani Salum Hassani, who was contesting for the Chamwino councillorship seat in Morogoro Urban Constituency and Rajabu Mwanga, candidate for the Mbagala Kuu councillorship post in Mbagala Constituency. Both passed away on September 27, 2025 and were contesting on Civic United Front (CUF) ticket.
