DAR ES SALAAM, Aug. 10 -- A specialist in internal medicine from Ramaiah Hospital, Narendra Swamy, said heart attacks affect women more than men and stressed that more education is needed to combat this fast-growing threat.

Dr Swamy revealed this in Dar es Salaam today, August 9, 2025, when he visited the Tanzania Women Journalists Association (TAMWA).

Dr Swamy, who is also the CEO of Ramaiah Hospital in India, said that the reason why heart attacks affect women more than men is the hormones that women have.

“Let me just say that diseases affect women in their own way, according to their genetics and lifestyle,” he said.
