TABORA, June 29 -- THE Inspector General of Police (IGP) Camilius Wambura has appointed Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Twaha Lulengelule as the new Tabora Regional Police Commander (RPC).

Lulengelules new appointment aims to fill the gap left following the death of the regions former police chief.

According to a statement issued by the Police spokesperson DCP David Misime on Monday, ACP Lulengelule, who previously served as the Regional Crime Officer (RCO) for Tabora, takes over the position after Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SACP) Richard Abwao passed away on June 20, 2026.
