DAR ES SALAAM, Oct. 28 -- THE Steering Committee of the Great Lakes Women Parliamentarians Conference has met with ambassadors of member states of the Great Lakes Region represented in Tanzania as part of preparations for the conference scheduled for November 2-5, 2026, at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam.

The meeting aimed to brief the ambassadors on the inaugural conference, progress made in preparations, responses received from their respective countries, and the importance of the gathering to member states of the Great Lakes Region. It also highlighted the role of women in achieving development goals and promoting regional peace.
