ZANZIBAR, Oct. 8 -- ZANZIBAR needs a sustainable government financing pathway for poor and highrisk pregnant women to ensure they receive timely and quality care throughout pregnancy, delivery and the postnatal period, health experts have said.

The experts made the call yesterday during a panel discussion on “No Mother Left Behind: Financing and Digitally Integrated Care for Poor and High-Risk Pregnant Women” at the 13th Tanzania Health Summit.

The discussion reviewed early evidence from the Zanzibar Health Services Fund (ZHSF) Mothers Care demonstration model, with panellists calling for stronger integration of health and digital systems and better use of existing resources.
