DSE turnover surges on strong bond trading
DAR ES SALAAM, Sept. 18 -- THE Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) recorded 28.4bn/- in turnover on Wednesday, driven largely by high-value transactions in the government bond market.
According to the DSE daily Market Report, bond trading contributed 17.83bn/-, equities 10.18bn/- and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) 373.95m/.
Bond trading generated the highest value from just 12 deals, highlighting the concentration of trading value in fixed-income securities.

Government bonds accounted for most activity, led by a 10-year Treasury bond carrying an 11.25 per cent coupon and a face value of 12.4bn/-.
