ZANZIBAR, Sept. 18 -- ZANZIBAR President and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has urged Muslim religious leaders to continue emphasizing the importance of peace, love, unity and solidarity, while strengthening the upbringing of children and young people based on good moral values.

President Mwinyi made the remarks today, September 18, 2026, after Friday prayers, when he officially opened the Tabligh Jamaat Markaz Zanzibar Ijitimai in Bungi, Central District, South Unguja Region.

He said religious leaders have an important role to play in reminding worshippers about good deeds, promoting moral values, and helping build families and communities guided by religious teachings.
