ZANZIBAR, Dec. 12 -- THE PRESIDENT of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has called on institutions and stakeholders in the tourism sector to increase cooperation to ensure that Tanzania, including Zanzibar, continues to benefit from international awards and opportunities in the tourism sector.

The award was given today at the State House in Zanzibar, after President Dr Mwinyi received the Africas Best Corporate Retreat Destination 2025 Award, which Zanzibar won at the World Travel Awards 2025 held in Bahrain.

The award was presented to the President and Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hamad Hassan Chande.
