ZANZIBAR, Aug. 17 -- PRESIDENT of Zanzibar, Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has directed Tanzanias newly appointed Ambassador to Malaysia, Major General Mbaraka Naziad Mkeremy, to strengthen economic diplomacy by identifying investment opportunities, promoting trade and increasing the number of Malaysian tourists visiting Zanzibar.

Dr Mwinyi issued the directive today, August 17, 2026, when he met Ambassador Mkeremy at State House in Zanzibar. The ambassador had paid a farewell visit to the President and received guidance ahead of taking up his new diplomatic assignment in Malaysia.
