DAR ES SALAAM, July 24 -- GROWING demand for digital services and continued investment in telecommunications infrastructure are accelerating Africas digital transformation, with rising smartphone adoption, internet usage and mobile financial services driving growth across the continents telecom sector.
According to an Airtel Africa on its first-quarter results for the 2026/27 financial year, the company reported a 31 percent increase in revenue to US$1.853 billion for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, up from US$1.415 billion in the corresponding period last year.
