DAR ES SALAAM, March 29 -- A massive 97.176bn/- roads project is expected to transform Temeke Municipality, with 51.2 kilometres of modern tarmac and concrete roads under construction—unlocking mobility, easing flooding and boosting incomes for thousands of residents.
The works being implemented under the Dar es Salaam Metropolitan Development Project Phase II (DMDP II), cover more than eight wards and at least 20 streets.
Speaking earlier on Sunday, Temeke District Manager for the Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA), Engineer Paul Mhere, said the districts road network spans 648.45 kilometres across three constituencies namely Temeke, Chamazi and Mbagala with the overall project implementation surpassing 75 per cent.
