MBAMBA BAY, Oct. 28 -- CONSTRUCTION of Mbamba Bay Port in Nyasa District has reached 78 per cent completion, creating jobs, building technical skills and boosting small businesses in the area.

Young people working on the project say the jobs have enabled them to earn incomes to support their families, while others are gaining technical skills that could help them secure employment or establish their own businesses after construction ends.

The project is also expected to strengthen cargo transportation and trade between Tanzania and neighbouring Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia.
