CHUNYA, MBEYA, Oct. 5 -- Chunya District authorities have appealed to the government to provide more public education on the proper use of fertilizers to help farmers increase productivity and improve soil health.
The call was made during a sensitization campaign on proper fertilizer use for the Southern Highlands Zone, led by the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr Steven Nindi.
District Executive Director Mr Charles Kinyasi said that while fertilizer use among local farmers has improved over recent years, many still lack adequate knowledge of the correct application methods and types of fertilizers suitable for their soils and crops.
