DODOMA, Aug. 19 -- THE 400-kilovolt (kV) electricity transmission line from Chalinze to Dodoma has been completed, paving the way for power generated at the Julius Nyerere Hydropower Plant (JNHPP) to reach Dodoma through Chalinze, the Ministry of Energy has said.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Energy responsible for Electricity and Renewable Energy, Engineer Felchesmi Mramba, made the statement while inspecting the final stages of the Chalinze-Dodoma power transmission project, which covers 345 kilometres.

The inspection also covered expansion works at the Chalinze Substation in Pwani Region and the Zuzu Substation in Dodoma.
