DAR ES SALAAM, April 29 -- CHALLENGES in the implementation of policies and laws, alongside harmful cultural practices and low parental awareness, have been identified as key drivers of child abuse and child marriage in the country—denying girls fundamental rights such as access to education.

This was stated in Dar es Salaam by Lilian Kimath, Girls Empowerment Officer at the Childrens Dignity Forum (CDF), during a media briefing held as part of a capacity-building seminar on child marriage. The seminar took place at the organizations headquarters in Mbezi.
