ZANZIBAR, July 21 -- CHAMA Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) in Zanzibar has said it will not change its position on the political reconciliation accord with ACT Wazalendo despite criticism from some opposition leaders.

CCM Deputy Secretary General for Zanzibar, Dr Mohamed Said Mohamed Dimwa, said party members should remain confident that the party will stand firm despite external pressure or political rhetoric, stressing that safeguarding peace and stability remains its top priority.

Speaking to wananchi in Ole Constituency, South Pemba Region, Dr Dimwa said CCMs core mission is to promote unity, solidarity and mutual respect among all citizens, regardless of race, religion, ethnicity or political affiliation.
