DODOMA, Jan. 21 -- THE ruling  Chama Cha Mapinduzi(CCM) has denied any involvement in the suspension of political activities by the opposition party, the Chama Cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (CHADEMA), stating that the matter is the outcome of a legal process determined by the courts.

CCM National Secretary for Ideology, Publicity and Training, Mr Kenani Kihongosi, made the statement today, January 21, 2026, noting that the restriction on CHADEMA stems from a ruling by the High Court in Miscellaneous Application No. 8960 of 2025.
