DAR ES SALAAM, Sept. 24 -- A TOTAL of 5,277 companies face possible removal from Tanzanias Companies Register after failing to confirm their business status, with the Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA) giving them 90 days to respond.

According to a BRELA notice published in the Government Gazette on September 18, 2026, the affected companies have 90 days to lodge an objection before the Registrar proceeds with the proposed strike-off.

The notice, issued under Section 403(3) of the Companies Act, Cap. 212, gives the companies, their directors, shareholders and company secretaries a final opportunity to respond before any removal from the register.
