ARUSHA, April 24 -- CONSTRUCTION of key access roads to the AFCON stadium in Arusha has gained momentum, with the government setting May 2027 as the firm deadline for completion of the 21.4-kilometre project.

The Chief Executive of the Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA), Eng Victor Seff, said during an inspection tour that works have already commenced on the Essuri road section, as part of efforts to ensure infrastructure is ready ahead of the continental tournament.

He noted that while some sections are progressing, others are pending compensation processes for affected residents, with ongoing engagements to avoid delays.
