ZAMBIA, Dec. 11 -- African energy firm Amsons Group from Tanzania has announced a strategic partnership with Zambias Exergy Africa Limited to develop and expand power generation projects and energy infrastructure in the country.

The project will include 1,000 megawatts (MW) of solar power and 300 MW of coal-fired power, with a total investment of 900m US dollars — 600m US dollars allocated for solar power and 300m US dollars for coal.

The agreement, part of Amsons broader strategy to expand its business in the energy sector, includes investment in a major 1-gigawatt (GW) solar power plant through Africa Power Generation, a consortium of renewable-energy investors registered in Zambia.
