DAR ES SALAAM, Sept. 13 -- A CALL has been made for greater collaboration in deploying artificial intelligence (AI) and other digital technologies to transform healthcare delivery in Tanzania and across Africa.

The call was made mid this week at the 26th Africa Medexpo in Dar es Salaam that ended yesterday during which more than 20 countries showcased innovations.

Speaking on behalf of the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Director of Muhimbili Orthopaedic Institute (MOI), Dr Mpoki Ulisubisya, said AI-powered tools are increasingly vital for early disease detection, reducing waiting times and improving service efficiency.
