DAR ES SALAAM, July 18 -- Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi was officially received at the State House in Dar es Salaam by his host, President Samia Suluhu Hassan, as he began a state visit to Tanzania.

A 21-gun salute was fired in honour of President El-Sisis arrival, marking the ceremonial welcome. He becomes only the second Egyptian president to visit Tanzania, following the historic visit by former Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser in 1968.

President El-Sisis visit comes as Tanzania and Egypt continue to strengthen their long-standing diplomatic relations and cooperation across various sectors.
