DODOMA, Feb. 7 -- THE government has commenced implementation of a major water supply project worth 220.8bn/- in Morogoro Municipality, marking a significant step toward ending the long-standing challenge of water shortages in the fastgrowing town.

The National Assembly was informed on Thursday by Deputy Minister for Water, Mr Mathew Kundo, while responding to a basic question from Morogoro Urban MP Abdul-Aziz Mohamed Abood (CCM).

In his question, the MP sought clarification on when the long-awaited water project valued at over 185bn/- would begin, noting that residents of Morogoro continue to grapple with severe water scarcity.
