Youth held captive in Ethiopia to return
Sri Lanka, June 30 -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is making arrangements to bring back to Sri Lanka the three northern youths who were detained in Ethiopia by Human traffickers, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Thushara said.
Two Jaffna youths and a boy from Kilinochchi tried to go to Canada with the help of illegal human traffickers. The illegal human traffickers took them and detained them in Ethiopia, and tortured them, demanding an additional US$ 30,000. And sent video to the relatives of the boys in their custody.
The relatives made a complaint to the Police. The Police brought the matter to the attention of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Ministry officials, in collaboration with the Ethiopian police, rescued ...
