Sri Lanka, Aug. 26 -- Two Sri Lankan youth weight lifters, Yashini Sathsarani and Himash Tharusha won a silver and a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Weight Weightlifting Championship which commenced yesterday in Hyderabad India.

Yashini Sathsarani competed at Youth 44kg girls' category lifted 104 kg (44kg snatch, clean & jerk 60kg) to win the bronze medal which was the first Sri Lankan medal yesterday. Indian Preetismita Bhoi won the gold medal with 150kg while Canadian Lexi Fung won the silver with 138kg .

Meanwhile Himash Tharusha competed at Youth 56kg boys' category and won the silver medal achieving 173kg (78kg snatch, clean & jerk 95kg). Indian weightlifter Dharmajyoti Dewgaria won the gold with 224kg in this category.
