Sri Lanka, Oct. 12 -- Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa stated that former President Ranasinghe Premadasa established the Buddhasasana Ministry and the Buddhasasana Fund, granting a paramount position to the Sambuddha Sasana.

He emphasised that while upholding the constitutional mandate to prioritise, protect, foster, and promote the Sambuddha Sasana, proper status, stability, and protection were also accorded to other religions, races, and cultures, a principle he pledged to carry forward.
