Sri Lanka, Aug. 19 -- Christopher Ranasinghe, a renowned sports journalist and radio sports commentator passed away on August 17.

He was a regular feature writer for the Lake House publication, 'Kreeda' Sinhala Sports Paper/Sports Magazine and presented sports news on Savana/ Shri FM radio.

Ranasinghe was a prominent teacher who served at the Christ the King College, Pannipitiya for over 35 years. He was also the elder brother of Rev. Fr. Sylvester Ranasinghe, Vice Chancellor/Rector of Aquinas College of Higher Studies in Borella.

Ranasinghe's body was kept at the Little Sisters of the Poor Convent in Maradana yesterday. His remains will be taken to Pannipitiya Christ the King College today (19th), at 9:30 am and the final rites will b...
