Sri Lanka, May 29 -- In parallel with the 2026 State Vesak festival, the Thihagoda Medical Officer of Health Office opened a health protection and nutrition awareness booth at the Vesak Zone in the Midellawela ancient Rajamaha Viharaya.

The booth is run by Public Health Inspectors (PHI's) and has been open to the public since the 27th.

The PHI's said schoolchildren and adults visiting the booth are given the opportunity to improve their knowledge and attitudes regarding the selection of chemical-free food, and food and health regulations.
